New meta-analysis: Protein enhances muscle mass during resistance training programs
Protein contributes to growth and maintenance of muscle mass. The effect of protein supplementation when used in conjunction with resistance exercise training (RET) on enhancing muscle mass and strength in athletes has been widely investigated. However various studies have produced conflicting results. Morton et al (2018) performed a meta-analysis to further investigate the effects of protein supplementation during RET in healthy adults.

Effects of milk protein supplementation in older adults

The effects of milk protein supplementation on body composition in older adults, when combined with resistance exercise, were examined in several recent randomized controlled trials. Meta-analysis of these studies shows that milk protein supplementation in combination with resistance training has a positive effect on fat-free mass in older adults.
